A big activity came to an end today. We held our third interreligious training on environmental peacebuilding with facilitators from NEMA, Big Ship and the Diocese of Homa Bay. We thank our facilitators and participants for this interesting meeting. At the same time we concluded with our Annual Consultative Meeting. Both events took place in Nakuru. We wish everyone blessed Christmas and a good start to 2025.

We thank all of our participants for their active and engaging participation and we are looking forward to our final and national meeting in November in Nakuru.

Today, an interesting and enriching meeting comes to an end. For the past days, (Arch)Bishops from all over the African continent have gathered in Nairobi upon the invitation of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue for a consultative on “Christianity in Dialogue with Islam and African Traditional Religion (ATR): Challenges and Opportunities”. We just concluded our first 2024 Metropolitan training for the Nyeri Metropolitan. This time we stayed in Murang’a Diocese with great interactions with our participants and a visit to the oldest Mosque in Mount Kenya region, as well as a visit to a Gikuyu cultural center.

Towards the end of the year 2023, the commission was working on translating our study manual into Kiswahili in order to make it useful for practitioners on the ground. We are happy to announce today, that we concluded. You will be able to find a digital copy of our study manual on our website.

From January 16th to January 17th, we are delighted to host the Do No Harm Trainer Network to facilitate for us a two-day training session on Do No Harm, for us to be conscious in our planning and implementation of our activities. A happy new year everyone. Very good news have reached our commission at the end of 2023. The Royal Danish Embassy through DANIDA, Denmark’s development cooperation, has agreed to start partnering with CIRDE. We are excited to partner with DANIDA and will be excited to announce concrete activities in the course of the year.
